Wicked has become a huge hit since it debuted on Broadway in 2003. It seems like everyone wants tikcets to the this whether in New York or in the other productions. The Cheetah Girls 2 have a major tour under way in 2007. Some people think the Cheetah Girls are just the latest corporate manufactured preteen girl group… well those are pretty much right. The Cheetah Girls are a prefab outfit put together and force fed to us by the Disney mega-corporation. But hey, preteen girls can’t get enough of this kinda stuff so I guess you give the people what the people want (or at least what you can convince them they want). Cirque du Soleil (French for “Circus of the Sun”) is an entertainment empire based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and founded in Quebec in 1984 by two former street performers, Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier. Celtic Woman is a musical group comprised of six Irish female artists. The original members include four vocalists Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, Órlagh Fallon, Lisa Kelly, Chloë Agnew and the violinist Máiréad Nesbitt. A sixth member, Hayley Westenra, a New Zealander of Irish descent, joined the group on August 24, 2006. Westenra is well known in her own right for her previous hits “Wuthering Heights” and “Dark Waltz”.[1] All of the original artists have solo albums created prior to the formation of Celtic Woman.

The group’s repertoire goes from traditional Celtic tunes to modern songs.

The Red Hot Chili Pappers have been at it for a looong time now. I remember when they were just an obscure, spazzy punk/funk band from LA. Now they are a super group. Who knew? (And how come Fishbone didn’t find the same success?) Believe it or not Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Phantom of the Opera debuted way back in 1986. More than 20 years later the musical is as popular as ever. Celtic Woman is a musical group comprised of six Irish female artists. The original members include four vocalists Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, Órlagh Fallon, Lisa Kelly, Chloë Agnew and the violinist Máiréad Nesbitt. A sixth member, Hayley Westenra, a New Zealander of Irish descent, joined the group on August 24, 2006. Westenra is well known in her own right for her previous hits “Wuthering Heights” and “Dark Waltz”.[1] All of the original artists have solo albums created prior to the formation of Celtic Woman.

The group’s repertoire goes from traditional Celtic tunes to modern songs.

During Méav Ní Mhaolchatha’s pregnancy, Deirdre Shannon filled her role for the tour.

On September 6, 2006, it was announced that Hayley Westenra had officially joined Celtic Woman as of August 24, 2006, and would be featured on the Celtic Woman - A New Journey DVD/CD.

If you’re Celen Dion, you say to yourself: Hey, why should I have to travel? My fans love me so much I’ll just have them come to me to see my concerts! That’s just what she has done it seems. She has a standing show over at Caesars Palace in Vegas and the thing sell out just about every dang night.
